Persistent cough

Teenager complained of a very irritating cough and was treated by few Drs with inhaled corticosteroids which didn’t help. He did have history of dust allergy.

So I first gave her pothos and within a week about 50 percent of symptoms settled. However she still had the cough and when she started it wud be very hard to stop till she was tearing. I decided to give her 2 doses of levamisole 3 days apart.
The next week on review she came super happy as the cough had completely resolved.

Note: If cough is Long COVID symptom or other infection like TB then above treatment wont help much.

Deworming for dental issues

Hello I had a patient come in my dental clinic last week with acute pain in her molar. Started her root canal for that tooth. However she kept complaining of pain in her anterior teeth. Scaling of the teeth (cleaning) was done but pain was persistent. Her X ray showed mild bone loss despite any local cause. Started her on deworming course. Post deworming all her dental pain has gone, the inflammation of gums has also reduced.

Eczema

A 20 yr old autistic girl came in with an eczematous rash on her neck which required antihistamine twice daily and elomet for relief. Full deworming course was started which showed improvement in the rash but it recurred later. She was given homeopathy Apis and urtica urins. She got aggravation with these homeopathic remedies. As the problem persisted she was given proprietary oral cytokine Allergy and atopy combo and homeopathy lachesis. She showed improvement but eczema was still present. Then homeopathy Morgan Pure and Cassia sophera was given. These 2 cleared up the eczema and no rash was present.

Hearing loss

A 57 year old male patient came with the chief complaint of hearing loss since 7 to 8 years. Past history included gurgling like sound in his ears from time to time along with history of recurrent ear infections in childhood and early adulthood.

Other complaints included chronic gastritis with H. Pylori infection. His H. Pylori was fully treated but GERD persisted.

He worked in plantations and hence he was put on a full deworming course in sequential manner (Mebendazole, levamisole and ivermectin).

He was also put on oral cytokine drops of Trichostatin A as the report showed presence of Epstien barr virus (EBV) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV) IgG levels were very high. This improved the hearing slightly.

The GERD and fatty liver issues made me give him homeopathic remedy Nux Vomica. It was initially started with OD dosing which showed mild hearing improvement, then as his gastric symptoms and hearing started improving the dose was increased to BD and then to TDS.

Note : Usually when choosing a homeopathic remedy do look for the triad match and modalities. However when a characteristic symptom of any remedy is present such as in nux vomica where patient gets otitis media or has stage 3 retinopathy with micro bleeds or night blindness we can use the drug without anything else matching.

Other examples include Ignatia for grief and in Nat Mur lack of feeling better on consolation or low sodium.

Diabetic patient with oral candidiasis

An elderly diabetic female patient presented with oral candidiasis. Past treatment of itraconazole, fluconazole, voriconazole did not resolve the infection.

New treatment regimen included a full deworming course of the patient along with oral anti fungal combo drops. The deworming course included albendazole, nitazoxanide, ivermectin and praziquantel in a sequential manner. After 15 days of treatment the lesion cleared up completely.

Rationale :

The deworming course made sure that her gut health is restored.

The oral antifungal drops is a proprietary formulation which includes a combination of homeopathic remedies, cytokines like GDNF, IL 9, Trichostatin, beta glucan and herbal extracts known for their strong fungicidal and fungistatic properties.

Targeting both helminths and fungal infection together was required to resolve the infection.
